Mars Incorporated is a family owned business. Since its founding in 1911, Mars has become a leading player in the global food industry. Our portfolio contains 8 out of the top 20 biggest brands in the world. In 2008, we have taken over Wrigley, another world famous family business. Together we stand stronger than ever!
At Mars, our corporate philosophy is founded on the ‘Five Principles’:
Quality, Responsibility, Mutuality, Efficiency and Freedom.
These Five Principles guide us in the daily choices we make and the manner in which we do business.
Two Principles in particular stand out. For us, "A mutual benefit is a shared benefit: a shared benefit will endure" and Responsibility states that, "As individuals we demand total responsibility from ourselves." Mutuality and Responsibility impose a special obligation upon us. We take upon ourselves the responsibility for seeking to ensure that we deliver mutual benefit to all with whom we interact: associates, consumers, trade partners, our communities, and last but not least our planet.
